Vortex Viper HS series Quality ?

Has anybody had experience with these scopes ? Wondering how they stack up optically against the Leupold VX3 ?

At least as good. Probably better. I'd buy the Vortex over the Leupold every time.

My eyes would give a very slight edge to the VX-3 glass over the Vortex Viper. Not enough to make any real-world difference. On quality of glass verses price, the Vortex Viper is clearly the winner in spades.

I own both and wouldn't say the Vortex is any better, How ever for the money difference the Vortex is the better buy for the money.

I own 3 myself a 4x16x50 LR Viper HS which is very impressive and the other 2 are 6x24x50 Viper PST's one in FFP MOA and the other in MIL-RAD. The PST's are every bit as good as a Nightforce!

How do you like the 1/2 MOA vertical adjustment?

It's different i must say! definently a hunting scope, Vortex says they designed it for hunting situations where you can dial in quicker with their custom turrets!

I have one of the new Vortex Viper HS 5-15x44MM scopes from MidwayUSA. It is an awesome scope for the money. They are currently on sale until the 4/30. I paid $399 for mine, and I have no regrets at all!!

    Definetly agree with the above!

I don't know if I would go this far! The PST's are good, I have both, NF is number 1 in my book!

Well i have used NF also but i cant justify paying twice as much when the vortex does the job just as well! NF is just fad on the shooting sceen if you ask me if you want superior optics drop $3500 on a Premeir or March!
