    My 250AI

    Specs:

    Savage 110 action
Apache Gun Works 250AI 1-10" twist barrel cut at 16.5"
B&C medalist stock with aluminum bedding block
    Leupold rings and bases
Leupold VX-III 3.5-10x50 with elevation turrent

So far I've only put 40 rounds through fireforming brass but have to say I am impressed. The last 2 3shot groups both went under 3/4" at 100 yds. The fireform loads are using H335, RP brass, wolf primers, and old Winchester 90gr PSP bullets. Can't wait to start some real load development.

Nice, what contour is your barrel? I have one of those stock's and would like to install a varmint contour. Could you post some pic's of the forearm straight down view?

So why did you decide to go with such a short barrel? Being that short kind of negates the benefits offered by the Ackley Improved case as any velocity you would have gained via the increased case capacity you've effectively given up by making the barrel so short.

    She does look good though!

Originally the barrel was going to be on a striker action but I couldn't get used to the striker with the 308 barrel and sold everything. It does make a nice short compact rifle though.

Thanks. I'll try to get you some pics. The barrel is a custom contour but it's close to a varmint contour. I had to open up the barrel channel to get it to fit. But I can slid two index cards between the barrel and stock.

Not sure of weight. That gun will be used in box stands and in fields where the coyotes are bad. But it's not too heavy to not carry.

Awesome looking rifle! I have a 250AI striker that I love. Now it looks like I might need a rifle to match. Good luck on the yotes. dcl

I tell you what, it looks nice... should be easy to carry.

If it gets a bit much though, I bought one of these for my heavier rifles...

The "Outlaw" sling is great for walking trips....

Do you suppose that since he's loosing velocity with the short barrel, but then gaining it back with the AI case, that it'll end up at a performance level of a standard 250-3000 in a 22" barrel?

I dunno, but it looks like fun and nice looking rifle.

It's real close to a varmint contour. I opened up the stock to accept it. It's still very rigid.
