I just do not like plastic on my guns,it is just a me thing I guess.
You can order the metal frame and bottom cap from Jim at NSS, SSS, or Savage Arms Parts. If you become a registered member, you can usually get a deal in the classifieds if you are willing to wait.
Yeah....Metal is for MEN...Plastic is for.....well....not so much men. HA!! I like real metal on my guns as well. I don't mind so much a plastic stock like the one on my new M-25 .17 Hornet, but I do want to replace the bottom metal on my .223 Savage Carbine. Metal just has "a feel" to it.
I've been wanting to get it....but I've been spending my $$$$ on this 'n that. All gun related stuff of course. Soon the bottom metal will rise to the top of the list. But for now....hunting season is upon me!!

Yes you can. Just call Savage and tell them what you want and they'll help you. I did the same with my 11VT.
Thanks guys for your replys,i am really liking this forum.Lots of good ideas here.
Metal all the way... I replaced my dbm with a blind mag and plastic trigger guard with metal one. Now my rifle feels less like a toy. I do want a glock though... Mostly plastic but still fun to shoot and reliable. Definitely a man's gun.
Does anyone happen to have the part no.s for a 111 TH?
If you call Savage with your Serial no. they will know what parts you need. However, they will give you the number for the plastic parts... I know for a fact that the metal trigger guard is the same size/dimensions, etc. as the plastic parts. I don't know about the mag and the bottom metal... would have to ask. I know the mag and its metal bottom metal parts will not fit into your factory stock, though, because the factory stock is molded to not need the bottom metal. For "shootability" it does not matter. I suggest you just get the trigger guard. If you replace the stock, you can start looking for bottom metal for the mag.
How do you contact Jim at nss or sss?
