Length of rounds in a Savage DBM

Does anyone have a Savage 11 Trophy Hunter XP in .223?

If so, can you tell me what the maximum cartridge overall length its magazine permits?

    Thanks,

right at 2.980" (edit) for a standard 308 style SA mag

Smaller for a 223(read Sharpshooters post below)

    Excellent, thank you.

I think I want to build a .300 BLK on a .223 donor rifle to go with my gas gun. I am not a fan of DBMs, but this will do, as the COAL for the .300 BLK is 2.260"

Im sorry, I gave you the max length for a short action. The 223 is shorter. I can only give you the length on a SF and that does not help.

Correct answer is 2.440" for the .223.
