    Figure age of fox b with serial#


    I am looking at a savage fox model b an can not figure out how old it is? I was wondering if someone could help me? The serial is D374605, an maybe what the gun is worth? Thanks

    Made in 1980 give or take but a value is kinda hard not knowing the condition of the gun.

    It in new condition an it has the fox engraved on the bottom of the receiver. Thanks for your reply

    I'm guessing it's in 12 ga.

    With condition like that it should bring somewhere between $450-500. It would draw a lot more cash if it was a 410, they seem to be selling like hotcakes when they turn up lately.

    I just passed on two Fox SxS's last week. Found them in a local gun shop - a 12ga BSE for $600 and a 20ga B for $500 - both in pretty nice condition. If the 20ga had been a BSE or BST I would have given $500 for it, but not for a B model, and $600 for the 12ga seemed a little high to me. Offered the guy $900 for the pair and he wouldn't even consider it so out the door I went.

    If you started to get into the Sterlingworth's you'd be looking at about triple that to start then adjust as you get up into the higher grades.
