    112 stainless 300 win mag

Ok so i have had this savage 112 stainless 300 win mag for about 4 years now and always wondered why only the flutted bull barrel is stainless? the reciever is blued. Now im not complaing by any means because it can shoot 1 ragged hole at 200 yards with factory ammo. So my question is has anyone seen a gun like this that was not built because i was told it was factory new when i got it?

Savage will do that from time to time. Some times special runs, some times they have been know to mix and match parts to fill orders. When (the now) Axis came out, There was a shop that had them with blued action and stainless barrels. It does happen. I had a new model Stevens with a 3 screw trigger in it. I've had 3 Savages with the wrong bolt handles as well.

Rp12. Thank you very much. I love the gun and the axis/edge. I have one in 30-06 and 243 both are 1/2moa shooters after a little trigger work. Lol

The varmint rifle in the 90's and early 2000's were two tone as it was instyle.Just like pistols such as kimbers and the like.
Willing to give back for what the sport has done for me!

I would look at Rifle basix , Timney , Jard ,or SSS , for a trigger. Or you could just tweek your factory trigger, they can be very nice as well.

I have several accutriggers, 2- 3 screw, a rifle basix. and 1 SSS. If you are going after market I would recomend the SSS I think when I get another one it will be SSS.

Any reason you like the SSS the best?

Of the ones I have experance with I like the adjustments and I haven't had it long enough to know if it will hold up over the long run. The rifle basix I like to but it is not much different than the factory 3 screw ones that I had reworked. I have no reason to believe that the SSS won't hold up like there other products I have used. Also it is a less expensive than the others.
