    Buying/making pillars

The only place I can find pillars for the model 11 is at Stocky's for 14.00. Are there any other places to buy them?

Also, can they be made and if so, what do I need and how do I go about doing it.

    Thanks.

+1 for lamp rod. Cheap and you can cut to your exact length needed.

Please help me on the lamp rod? What diameter should I get and I am guessing I will need to cut the notch out for the trigger assembly correct?

I had some AL ones turned from 1/2" with .1/3 hole in the middle.. counter sunk on the front.. knurled. I have to cut em down for length and trim out the sear clearance on the rear still.. These guys are much less expensive.

I just went to Menards and got a few pieces of lamp rod for $2. Time to bust out the hack saw and files.

Has anyone ever (besides me) just notched the trigger piece instead of the pillar?

    You mean the sear.

Yes, but its ill advised. The sears are hard. Notching them may-can-will cause them to crack so tread lightly.

There are a number of threads on pillar bedding. Here is one example.

I prefer to make them out of barrel steel(old barrels) or aluminum on my lathe. Some of the commercial ones are ok but I would check with stockade stocks for a decent set of pillars. He doesnt list them but I am sure he has them. 1-308-432-5114 and ask for kevin. He ships the same or next day.
