interesting. I wonder if they would allow us a group purchase? Many stocks have been purchased by the members of SS.com.
Boyds just posted on there facebook page savage axis stock coming the 9th of October. There will be 3 different options.

Makes me think about picking up another for a future build! I enjoyed building on the Axis Action!
They've got at least one customer out of me! This couldn't come at a better time.
Might want to sober up first otherwise you might accidentally order a stock for a Mauser or something. lol

Eh, I'm sure I'll have a Mauser for it at some point lol.
I hope one of the options is the tacticool

So looking at my Axis rifles, I am wondering how they're going to accommodate the trigger guard? It's pretty large, on the Axis.
They'll most likely just fill it in and use something like a 10/110 style trigger guard. The factory stock version is part of its weakness.
Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking. I was actually hoping that would be the way they go. It would be nice to be able to grab a stainless 11/111 guard to go with my stainless action/barrel.
Not sure if they'll offer one with it though!

Probably not, but there's plenty of 'em out there. I'm pretty sure they sell at least the black ones on their site, though.
yep it should definitely be an improvement.
Well that sealed it for me. In search of a .243 axis now!
Sweet can t wait......maybe an early Christmas gift !
LOL, I just ordered a CF2 stock. Owell 50 bucks
Nice looking......

Nice! Post some before and after pics if you can
that looks awesome mdewitt71. Is that the Classic or the Prairie Hunter? Would like to see it assembled after also.
That is the Prairie Hunter and it is one very nice piece of work.... I actually had to send it back but, I came home from a Church activity to find out my replacement stock has arrived but, I was not home and have to get it at the Post Office Monday.
I am super excited and will get pics up of it installed once I bring it home.
OK so it wasnt my stock that came in the mail, that I had to go to the post office n sign for....
It was a certified letter of the recall of the stock I already mailed back to Boyds.
I have been told via a phone conversation though, that my stock was being put on an engraving machine so hopefully I will be seeing the real package on my doorstep soon.....
Does anyone know how these stocks would handle a bull barrel? I want to upgrade the barrel on my 30-06 eventually and i'd like to get a heavy barrel. Is there adequate clearance for the barrel channel or will i need to remove some stock?
You'd have to open it up yourself.

is that on a specific model or on all 3?
All 3 I would imagine. These are mass production so they're all the same.
