I really hate it when I miss out on deals

Cabelas had a sale last week on their Nikon Monarchs. They had the 4-16x42 on sale for 300 bucks. Just my luck that I found out about it late last night and totally missed out on the deal as I was getting my credit card. Now I'm back in hunt for a good scope to put on my model 10 flcp-k for 300 bucks or less. I mostly target shoot(live near a 1000 yard range) but I need it to be versatile enough to deer and hog hunt around central Texas once in a while. Do you guys have any suggestions on another scope in this price range.

I also need recommendations on base and rings for my left handed savage. Thanks a bunch.

I like Nikon scopes, but I don't think they are as clear as a leupold. But, the Nikon buck masters series is good in the 4x14 or 6x18. I can't tell the difference between the buckmaster or monarchs I have.

Agreed the buckmaster line is a solid performer. The Redfield revenge 6-18 is also a good one.

    Don't forget about Burris
I've bought a couple of the E1s in the last year and love em and the fullfield 2s have always been a solid value. the 30mm tubes would be great for going long but they're out of stock.

Have you bough from bigsupplyshop before? Their prices seem a little bit too good to be true.

I'll also give another nod toward the Nikon Buckmaster. I'm not impressed with the Monarch line's glass for the amount of money you're paying for it, but that's just my .02

Yes and I like them a lot. there is a small fee I think it was like $7 added to my last couple of orders as a factory direct fee but my shipping was free and I saved a lot of green over buying elsewhere. I believe they are a factory direct type operation because my products shipped directly from the manufacturer. This saves on transportation and warehousing costs and allows them to offer great prices.
Big Supply shop is good to go.

You wont see it until you take it on a ride with the four wheeler. The Monarch stands tall and the Buckmaster fails.

What do you guys think about the minox za5 scopes. I can get 2-10x50 for less that 3 hundred bucks. I heard the glass is great.

Thanks for all the help. I have another candidate that I'm considering. It's the weaver grand slam 4.5-15x40. It's on sale for 289 bucks. Does anyone have any experience with this scope?

Keep an eye on Camera Land's "Deal of the Day" up in the Vendor Announcements board as Doug's been posting up some really killer deals lately. They're one-day only offers though so you have to act fast.
