    Boyd's Walnut Stocks

I have bought quite a few of Boyd's laminated stocks and have been pleased with them all and now I think I want a walnut stock for my next build. I am wanting to hear from someone who has ordered a walnut stock from Boyd's and how well you like it. I am curious about the grain and color. I like very nice grain and darker colored walnut. I have seen some walnut stocks that looked like birch and not very attractive at all and don't want to wind up with something that looks plain and cheap.

The color is dark, but you'll get little to no grain with their stocks as they use production grade blanks (what else would you expect from a $40 walnut blank?). They don't offer various grades either - I've asked. As such, expect the grain to be about the same as you would find on an original M1903 Springfield, M1 Garand, or M1 Carbine stock.
