Using a new Hornady NS die

Hi. Anyone else using the 'new' Hornady Neck Sizing die? I call it new, because I just learned about them a week or so ago.
It is not cartridge specific, but rather caliber specific. Pretty cool.
It's basically a short, opened up neck die, in different calibers. The .224 will do .223, 22-250, etc.

I tried to make one a while back.... I wanted a neck die for my .223 AI. So,,,, I had a couple of 'spare' RCBS 223 full length dies.
Doing some simple measurements showed that if I were to run a 3/8" drill up into the die I would be good to go.
I picked up a brand new Cobalt bit, put it in the tailstock and the die in the headstock of my lathe. Nothing. I didn't force things, but it was immediately obvious this would NOT work.
I DID open the die up easily using a Carbide tipped boring bar. Another lesson learned......

Good question. Been wondering about them myself.

I did the same thing you did only for a lee die. No problem and I honed the die to finish size. I have other sets that size better to my chamber but I would not hesitate to use it on anything.
