    270 WSM Norma Brass

Hey, after having trouble again with weak Winchester primer pockets I took the plunge and order 150 Norma cases today. Do any of you have any experience using this brass in 270 WSM? What's the case capacity compared to the Winchesters. What can I expect the difference in load charge weights? Is there anything I should look for with the Norma brass. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I don't know this caliber (I have a 270 win though) so I'm just guessing you might be limited in some of your compression loads since you're gonna be stuffing the longer bullets into a shorter case/neck. In general, I'll take Norma/Lapua brass any time over most everything else out there (especially win and remmie). http://www.chuckhawks.com/270wsm.htm

They WSM case holds 11 more grains of powder, although they are both rated @ 65000 PSI, can't go wrong with either one.

Did your charge weight change going from the Winnie brass to the Norma brass?

Sorry miss understood your post initially,
When I resize 270WSM to 7mm WSM, it does not last as long as when I use, 300WSM to 7mm WSM.

    Is the Norma brass abundant?

    Have you tried CCI primers?
When my 30.06 Fed brass has loose fitting WLR's I use CCI's. They fit a little tighter.
'Scuse me while I whip this out...!

I changed to Federal 210m primers with my 308 for that same reason. I'll be giving the 215m a try as soon as I can find some.

Don't know about the .270 WSM but Norma .25/06 cases hold 2 grains more IMR4350 than Remington or Winchester.
