I dont like them Savage could save us a lot of trouble and stop fixing or changing what isn't broke in the first place!

Is it just me or does everyone not really care for the bolt release in the trigger guard of the 10 series? I have a 11 Hog Hunter but decided to get another Savage because wife wants to hunt now. I ordered a Savage 12 VAR LP 308 DBM. I verified with Savage it still has the bolt release on the side. Could not find a 16 FSS in stock anywhere.

YOU CAN'T FIX STUPID !
I am looking into/contemplating modifying the sear so that it can all be done inside the trigger gaurd and not having to have the button on the front. Best of both worlds.
that would be cool stang keep us up to date on how that goes

I don't mind it, however I do like the system on the Weatherby S2 better.
They both work for me. If savage decides to eventually have the whole line with them the aftermarket parts selection for them will improve.
I don't like it. Coming from a R700 to the Savage and that bolt release was a WTH moment. It takes two hands, on the release and the trigger, to pop it out of there if you're going down range or walking off for a moment. Sometimes you can do it with one and pull the bolt with the other. If you get lucky.
I always figured that a rifle without a bolt wouldn't be as tempting to some scumbag when I'm three hundred yards away. I might have to rethink this.
I wished they would have went with the Mauser style bolt release.
