    Sticky Model 99 action

Just inherited a model 99. My first lever gun. It looks fine cosmetically but the action cycles super rough. I have lubed it as best I can without tearing it down to no avail but am afraid to tear it down because I have heard horror stories about tearing down lever guns. Is there any way to get it to cycle smoother without tearing it down? Is tearing it down and getting it back together tough? I have torn Garands and bolt actions down but that's about the extent of my mechanical abilities.
    Thanks all.

when you say sticky lever what exactly do you mean. these guns will feel a little tight as they lock the bolt forward other than that they shouldwork rather smoothly. It may just need to be cleaned.

these really aren't that hard to do. check out the you tube video to get you started : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TiwuPKv2LlQ
