Model 954 L.S.

Hey guys,
I just recently came across a Lakefield model 954 L.S. which if I am not mistaken was made by Savage in Canada. However i can not find ANY information on the gun. It is in fairly good shape however there are a few dings in the stock which i plan on re finishing. My questions are, 1 can anyone give me a little more information on the rifle. And 2, the trigger is HEAVY and i want to adjust it. I know there is a way to adjust it however I wanted to talk to some other "savage heads" before i tear into this thing. Savage bought Lakefield in the late '80s or early 90's. Does it have Savage on it anywhere?

Pictures of the action with the stock removed would be a big help... the trigger may be a simple fix, but to be sure pictures would help.
