    Model 30 Series E

I received this gun from my father in 1988 to go dove hunting.

    Savage Model 30 Series E
    20 Gauge 3" Chamber
    Savage Arms
    Westfield, MA

    S#: B948888

    Was trying to find out:

    Age?
Should I refinish or just clean well?
Was at the bare minimum going to clean and polish this sucker and maybe take it dove hunting.
It's been about 25 years since this gun was fired. Has mainly stayed in my closet.

    Any help is appreciated!

I'd say just give it a cleaning and inspection.

After a Google search for a mod 30 the only age reference I could find was saying the 30s were made between 1958-1970.
