    New Mark II BGV

I just purchased a Savage Mark II BGV XP in 22lr. Other than my Mosin, my first bolt action gun. I plan to do bench rest target shooting with this rifle. This is also my first heavy barrel gun, and wanted to know if it needs to be broke in. I hear two schools of thought on this...braking it in will make it more accurate and easier to clean later, or just shoot it as with all that cleaning at the onset can be detrimental to the barrel. Since this is my first Savage, I thought I would ask the experts here. Thanks.
