Can anybody tell me what I have here. I know it's old, but not sure how old. Also, I can't find a model # on it, just the Stevens stamping in the pic & "597" inside the barrel hook area & the forearm, etc.
I also have a Stevens 67 pump which I've posted before.

I think I've narrowed it down to one of the 300-series....problem is, when I look at the numrich parts diagrams things don't quite match up. This gun has what I guess you would call dual lugs on the barrels....
All the 300-series appear to have a single lug set-up. Also, this gun has screws rather than pins through the receiver. Only the 335 appears to use screws, but the 335's internal parts don't look the same(in the diagram, anyway). Here's a shot of this gun's internals...
Looks like I've pinned it down to be a Model 365. I found a post over on shotgunworld forum showing Stevens 1913 catalog No.53. According to the poster that was the last edition that listed the 335-385 models. Now I'm getting a few replacement parts & working on making it "shootable". We'll see. The 365 was made with Krupp fluid steel barrels to handle the smokeless powder ammunition. Most likely 2 1/2" chambers.

Now, if I can just remember where I put the buttplate & cap....
I'm not 100% percent sure but it looks like an older model Stevens 311A.
Have you posted your questions and pictures on Shotgun world's ID and Value Forum? A poster named Researcher has a lot of knowledge about those old sxs's.

Just an update on the old Stevens double....all road signs still point to it being the model 365(based on the barrels, amount of stocks checkering & wood species, cap & buttplate design, etc.). I did finally stumble across the missing cap & buttplate up in one of the closets, so they've been reunited. I found some original replacement screws to complete the receiver, but the old barrels do not appear to be repairable to shooting condition. So, it'll be a good-looking wall hanger until I get lucky & find a set of NOS barrels for it.
I feel for you. I'm looking for a set of replacement barrels that will fit (with some help from a gunsmith) a Springfield-Stevens No. 215 sxs hammer gun made around 1930-1932.
That's a good point. I think even if I found a set of barrels for the 365 some work would have to be done to tighten up the breach. It has quite a bit of wobble now.
Last year, when I 1st posted here about the gun, there was 20g set of barrels listed on ebay for a model 335. I was tempted to try them, but I just don't know if the two gauges share the same receiver. Plus, I'm guessing there were several design changes over the life of that series?? 1910-1930ish
