    111 Ejector messed up

So today I messed up and through my standard load in a different case and it ended up being too much for the case. Blew the primers out and it also shoved my extractor in so it stuck there now and will not eject cases. Oopps. What are my options?

Trying soaking the bolt head in Kroil and then try touching the end of the ejector with one of those vibrating engraving pens. This is the only thing I have found to work and I am only 1 for 2 on this. The one that it didn't work I saved and used on a build that was a single shot so I could pluck the brass out rather than pick it up off the ground.

You can easily order replacement parts from Savage on-line store. Have your serial # ready.

Okay thank you. What size punch for the little pin that holds the ejector in?

Can't remember the punch size right now, but don't be surprised if you can't get the pin out. Once the ejector gets stuck like that it often jams that pin in there pretty darn tight.

The pins generally run just under .062", .0617" or so. I use a 1/16" pin punch ground to .058". A 1/16" (.062") punch can be a tad snug.

Thank you for the information. I had to order the parts yesterday. Bummer but hopefully I will get it up and running soon. Bolt was easier to take apart than I thought. I have not gotten the ejector pin out yet.

I use a heavy paper clip as a punch, a small drill bit on teh tighter pins, just push and tap and it will come out. I have 5 savage kits and balls sitting here on my desk, none of them fixed the extraction issue, only the enhanced kit from SSS worked.

here is their email, its about the same price as the savage replacement parts.

Great thanks. Never had an extraction issue until the ejector got stuck. I have parts on the way should fix the problem. Unless I did more damage than I can see.

Well I got my parts from Savage today and was able to get my rifle up and running. On a side note I now know how to change out the bolt head if I ever decide to change calibers.
