    7mm-08 long or short action

trying to find out whether or not my rifle is long or short action. i have a savage model 11 chambered in 7mm-08. i am measuring 4.375" on center of the action bolts, accu-stock, trigger model number 19186. does anyone here know how savage does their long short action? i've seen 7mm-08 as a short action and long action. i emailed savage customer service a week plus ago, then posted on their facebook page and someone sent me here. so i figured id at least give it a shot

Savage models with two digits[10,11,12] are short action, their long actions have three digits[110,112,116]

That may be the wrong base. 4.27 is a short action stagger feed.

k so I'm just going to go with the 2 piece base because i have a short action round receiver 1 piece base and it does not fit right, and with a 2 piece it doesn't matter. the 2 piece base actually bolts to all 4 bolts for the scope mounting holes. thanks for your help

That is the way those bases are made. I am assuming by your pics that it is a Leupold 1pc base and rings. I have had some in the past and they seemed to hold up well and the rifles were accurate so I would say it did its job.

I wouldn't be scared to use it, but if you prefer the 2pc bases are decent as well.

Or you could buy a weaver one piece. Inexpensive and effective

Actually more effective than two-piece bases. The one piece base allows quite a bit more lateral adjustment for the scope so that eye relief can be set where you want it and you don't have to settle for close enough.

Looks like the wrong base from the picture
All short action one piece bases I have do not cover any of the ejection port at the rear like yours
They also use both screw holes in front and back for mounting
    I have 2 weaver and 1 EGW
    Hope this helps
