savage predator high capacity mag?

ok its not really a high capacity mag but i have noticed that my predator .223 will hold 5 in the mag and 1 in the chamber. it will actually hold all 6 in the mag but when i shut the bolt it loads #6. i thought it was only to hold 4+1. anyone else have this?
oh by the way i do not have to force the #6 into the mag.
