    New Savage 110 BA question

I was just cruising through the Savage Website and came across the new 110 BA. It shows it chambered in either 300 Win Mag or 338 Lapua. It also shows that it is setting on a long action. Would this lead you to believe that you could build a 338 Lapua on a standard long action or standard Savage magnum action? I know that they have been making 300 Win Mags and 7mm Win mags. Is this Laupa built on the same action? Or is it a different action. I have been wanting to build one and was looking at other actions because I didn't think Savage made one long enough.

Oh yeah, it also makes me grumpy when I see their new Long Range Hunter model is now being offered in 6.5x284 when a few months ago when I wanted to get something like that all they had was their single shot F class models.

Re: New Savage 110 BA question

The 110 BA is a 'new' action in that it has a small ejection port vs the traditional 'open top' hunting style action, and they may have moved the action screw holes some for strength reasons. Otherwise... it is functionally a regular 110 long action from everything I've seen.

I'm really hoping they will make these actions available in some form, as I think a long range hunter built off this action with a DBM would be da schnizzle...
