    219C 22 hornet

    Maybe a dumb question but I have never reloaded for a 22 Hornet. For a 219C should the bullet be a .223 or a .224 ?
    Appreciate any reply. Oldhornet

As far as I know it'll want .224" bullets. The whole .223 thing came about because of a great many early Hornets were made by installing a .22 rimfire barrel on an action and reaming a Hornet chamber in it. Even if yours were a .22-rimfire groove, shooting .224 bullets through it will only make for a small rise in pressure. Nothing to panic over unless you start loading really hot.

BTW I have reamed out my Hornets with a "K-Hornet" reamer. That gives the little case a shoulder to headspace on, and lengthens brass life significantly.

Lil-Gun is the best powder going for the Hornet, unless you want to shoot cast bullets. Nothing else comes close.
