Did you have to do any work to the barrel channel of the Carbelite stock to make the varmint contour barrel work?

Thank You Gentlemen for the inspiring comments, I just bought another 200 in .308 and expect my Mcgowen any day. I think a Mcmillian stock will be the choice on this build, with the additional recoil I would like a vertical grip.

Nice! What made you decide against painting the barrel? does painting the barrel affect accuracy? Just wondering since you have the scope and stock all camo'ed up but not the barrel.

Chris, Thank-you.. I have since removed that rediculous wrap on the glass....just a phase I was going through, lol. My intention is to duracoat the action and barrel but I am not very crafty, the armory performed most everything on my systems while I served. I'm working up a .308 currently and my local Smith charges $190.00 for the dura coat job so it will have to wait untill I finish the current .308 build.

Hahaha... that Wrap is actually really handy to make sure your scope avoids dings and scratches when in the Bush... It doesn't look like a bush gun but its also great for avoiding scratches when in the case if anything gets loose...

My .223 loves the Federal Ammo... LOVES it... the ballistic 50 gr stuff punches tight groups at 100 yds and they get tighter the dirtier it gets! Handy for thumping Varmints.

    Nice build..

I've done one of they DIY kits before (on a suped-up 10/22) and plan to do another one on my Savage 111 hunting rifle and a Remington 1100 set up for 3-gun. They are not too difficult, you just have to make sure you mask things off good and don't get any runs by spraying too closely. $30 bucks sure beats $190 :)

Edit: And I think you're rifle is going to look sweet once that shiny barrel blends in with the rest of the camo look you have going. Don't knock the camo wrap! All my hunting buddies use that stuff on their coyote gear because they don't have the balls to break out the rattle can. It works pretty darn good too, especially when you stick some blades of grass and leaves and such in there to help break up the pattern.
