12 LRPV DBM and 12 LRPV Dual port bolt swap?

    G'day,

I currently have a 12 LRPV DBM in 22-250. I am planning on purchasing a 12 LRPV Dual port single shot in 204.

Can I swap the bolts straight between the two actions?

Does the Dual port have 3 action screws? And if so do the 2 action screw holes on the DBM line up with 2 of the 3 corresponding action screw holes on the single shot action?

    Thanks,

    Matt

The dual port action has a bolt spacing all it's own. Not sure on swapping whole bolts but you maybe able to swap bolt heads if they eject to the same side.

    Thanks Pa,

Does anyone know if it is the same as the "Target" Dual port action screw spacing?

The Dual port action itself has a total different spacing in any configuration unlike any of the other Target actions

The Dual port has the rear action screw set forward, using a full pillar, and a different trigger guard, (Model 40) unlike the LRPV. So yes the dual port has a complete different screw spacing that a LRPV. They are not even close.
You can not just switch bolts. the barrel is head spaced to the bolt, switching bolts without checking head space is just plain dangerous. DO NOT DO IT!

    Thanks 82boy,

I was planning to use go and no-go gauges with each barrel change. I just didn't know if the bolt length from lug bearing surface to back of receiver was the same between the two actions.

    Thanks,

    Matt

They would be close, if you set the barrel up for headspace to the bolt you will be fine.

    Thanks mate,

I have a complete WSM bolt faced bolt that Fred made for my 12 LRPV DBM so I could swap from 22-250 to 7WSM with a full bolt change rather than changing heads.

I was curious if this 7WSM bolt would fit into the new 12 LRPV Dual port or Target Dual port actions i.e. are the DBM and Target actions the same length?

    Matt
