    Savage 12BVSS

Hi guys. I'm new to this site and I'm looking at a new 12BVSS in 25-06. I figured this would be good site to hear some input. Looking to hunt Prairie dogs and antelope with this gun, shooting 200 to 800 yards. Lets see what you have to say. Thanks car

    Welcome to the site,
Not to burst your bubble but Savage has not offered the 25/06 in a 12 or 112 BVSS in a long time. They use to offer it in a 110FP, which would be the only heavy barreled gun they made in 25/06 in the last couple of years, but they no longer list it on their site.
I think you may have to either build one, have one built or maybe order one from the Custom shop at Savage.

You probably mean a 112BVSS. Been 5 years since I bought mine. As mentioned it's been maybe 3 years since they offered them from the factory so it's new old stock or used. Mine shoots real good with Berger VLD's.

Yeah your right. It is a 112BVSS and they are new. Would you pay $600 for one?

Not sure if they're new centerfeeds or what but a gunshop I'm in from time to time just got a few 112's on clearance. I'm almost positive 25-06 was one of the calibers available.

In fact, I'm pretty sure he has them listed on gunbroker....

mods, if listing the auction is a no-no feel free to delete. just passing this along....if I had the extra cash, I'd be picking one up for myself

That is where I saw them. So do you think $600 is too much?

All depends how bad you want it. I paid 6 for a 12BVSS 223. Paid 425 for my 112BVSS years ago. I'd say the price is reasonable. There wont be any more of them most likely so thats something to consider.

I have the BVSS 112 in 25-06, 7mm Mag and 300 Win Mag in stock now. I have several of the 6.5X284 coming in as soon as they arrive. I also got a good sized piece of the last factory Single Shots in 220 Swift (these are actually the last of the 220 Swifts).

Apparently Savage made some special runs of BVSS guns. I bought a 6.5X284 for $589.00 on Gun Broker 2 weeks ago. The inside of the box was date 2/24/10 so I'm guessing it was not old stock.

2/24/10 would be new stock, takes time to build and ship an order, stock it in inventory, catalog it for sale, reship it to dealers.
