    First F Class win !!

Got my first 500 meter F/TR class win this weekend! It was my 3rd match, having placed 7th and 3rd in the first two. I shot a 143/150 4X.
Winds were about 12MPH, but I didn't see them switching at all. Just the wind speed would change occasionally, in which case I was favoring the 3:00 10ring hold off more or less as needed. I had 2 MOA dialed into the scope. There was only 1 point separating the top 3 places, and the other two guys were shooting .308 while I was shooting the .223 Very satisfying day for me and my Savage.

Big thanks to forum member kschilling for helping me build this rifle and teaching me the ropes.

Sounds like some pretty good shooting! A .223 sure is fun for mid-range ain't it

Great Job Bob! The topography of that range is always tough to shoot. I've got you're back Brother!

Fine shooting. I plan to get down there next month; please post your results if you go to the match today, since it looks like good weather for a shoot. I shoot a 10 FC in .308, so I'll be one more .308 out there trying to keep up!

Way to go, what range was the shoot at? I have never shot a match but have had some thoughts of doing it

jim_k....typical CTSA weather. Winds started at about 5mph NE and graduated to to maybe 10mph SE throughout the day. You could always see when the wind caught everybody off guard. I'd look down the target line with my spotting scope and see that everyone made the same mistake on a given shot. Pretty funny actually. I did have a brain fart on my last shot, sending it into the 7 ring. Other than that, I was all 9's & 10's. Ended up with a 141 3X for 3rd place. There was actually a tie for 1st & 2nd with a couple of 144's.
Not sure of the Open class scores, but they'll be posted on the website in a few days.

That's still very fine shooting for 3rd; I'll check the website like you said, but I don't sweat what F/O shooters do - I know I'm not going to compete with them! I have shot high-power for a long time, but I've got to switch at least temporarily, due to a nerve problem in my neck/left arm. I don't know if I'll be shooting left-handed or right-handed yet.
