    Collet die for 280AI?

Im wanting to start using a collet neck die for my 280AI, but there isn't one made for it(At least I've not seen one). Will the one for the standard 280 work or which one would work if that doesnt?
    Thanks

I would think it would work. You can always contact Lee Precision and ask for a confirmation (they also typically will customize their dies for a very small fee).

I use the 280 Lee Collet die and 280AI Redding Body die. Seems to work just fine.

LEE will make you a custom collet die for your 280 AI for a good price. Go to their web site and find custom. They will have you send 2 fired un-primed cases with bullets you will use. All sent back with dies of course. The custom collet die also comes with a bullet seating die.

Incidentally I use lee collet dies for neck sizing my 6BRX and 284 WIN long range Bench Rest guns. I use various body dies to keep head space in tow.

All Lee collet dies made for parent cases of P.O. Ackley spec. chambers will size The Ackley improved cases. Plus the 6PPC LCD will also size 6BR Norma cases using a 1/2 inch washer on the shell holder. I use a .040" thick washer. This keeps the base of a Berger 105 gr VLD or Lapua 105gr scenar above the donut............. The washer "trick" allows the collet to close higher on the neck avoiding possible contact of the donut with the bullet base........ In addition the LCD's mandrel has a swaging effect on interior donuts pushing the donut to the outer surface of the neck. Just be careful with tight necked chambers as you could create a pressure problem. Caveat Emptor

you dont need a ackly collet die. nearly all ackley cartridges the parent lee collet die will work. I use collet die for my 22-250 ai and 280 ai both the parent cartridges dies, standard 22-250 and "7mm express" wich is a standard 280
