    338 lapua to edge

Im looking at buying a 338 lapua 110 hs precision for the action stock and selling the barrel to build a edge repeater can i use a standard 110 bolt head on this action to convert it for the edge and possibly need a new firing pin assembly??

    Anyone try this yet

If you already have it in 338lm why go through the trouble of rebarreling in a chambering with almost identical ballistics?
I get that bras can be found cheaper for the edge but that's about the only advantage your gonna have.
Seems to me that it would make more sense to buy a cheap 110 sacrificial rifle to build on, but that's just me.
But to answer your question, yes you can change out the bolt face to fit the edge. You will also have to modify the baffle.

Definitely is, I took a 7mag and screwed a 338 Edge Barrel on it. No bolt parts to change. You will probably work on the magazine a little, it can be done and is the most cost effective way to go.
