reloading for Swiss Schmidt Rubin 7.5x55

is worth reloading for a 7.5x55 to be shot out of a Swiss Schmidt Rubin? I can buy GP11s for 50 cents each, someone pls give me your cost to reload this caliber, I am not looking for super duper accuracy but some fun at vintage rifle shoots. Thanks,
    newbie from gr, mi.

According to this site https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7.5%C3%9755mm_Swiss it is acceptable to use 308 caliber bullets when reloading 7.5x55 ammo. So that means that you have a lot of bullets to choose from. Regular GP11 brass will be berdan primed so it would be somewhat of a PIA to reload it since there is no really effective depriming tool made. A couple of years ago berdan primers were unavailable in the US but Tula has started selling them again. Of course right now it is pretty difficult to get your hands on ANY primers, so good luck.

If you go with the Grafs 175gr HPBT bullets at $28/100 then the bullet is 28c, a primer is about 3c, PPU brass is 52c each and powder should be around 15c. So, the consumables add up to 46c each. if you don't load too hot and don't full length size every time the brass should last a good while. You would of course be able to tailor the load for the gun (seating depth, barrel harmonics etc) and if you are not shooting too far, you could load it "soft".

I would not expect the supply of "cheap" GP 11 to be constant though. If it shoots good for you, get a bunch of it and also get a bunch of berdan primers so that when it finally does run dry you will be able to reload it. The Swiss brass will be first rate.
