    savage extraction issue


    for some reason my savage 10fp wont thro cartridges very well. happened recently. it used to sling em pretty well, but now it barely drops them to the side. any idea how to improve this?

    Could be your ejector is gunked up. Try squirting some solvent in and working it back and forth...or you could disassemble and clean, then reassemble. If you have been shooting really hot loads, you might have damaged it or the spring as well.

    Go to the Savage website and order a new ejector (left) and spring. You'll need to enter the rifle's S/N. https://store.savagearms.com/partfinder/


    The follower(tail) helps prevent the spring from distorting like the one on the right and also prevents how far (deep) the ejector can retract preventing over compressing the spring.
