My 9 year old shot 1000 yards for the first time.

I don't like to post faces, but in this case I have to. I started teaching my daughter how to shoot at the age of 4. We started with a suppressed .22, but she refused because daddy didn't shoot one. A suppressed AR in 300 Whisper became her trainer rifle. She killed her first and second deer at 7 with the same Whisper. Her third at eight. Last season she graduated to a suppressed 308 and killed a nice ten point. All the shots were under 200 yards. She has never shot a non suppressed rifle so I was a little nervous. I decided to take her shooting at a grand this morning. The gun is a Savage F-Class in 6mm BRX, 107 SMKs, Benchmark 30" barrel, and a 20x Leupold. The barrel was threaded and chambered by Spook and installed it about three weeks ago. The rifle belongs to a friend. My F-Class gun has a little more recoil than I want her to experience. One group is amazing and almost unbelievable, but I have video. Enjoy.

Are those her three hits at 1k?? Is she offering lessons? That's awesome!
I put my girlfriend behind my 260 and had her hit a gong at 550. I think i got more joy out of it than her:)

Yes. I was shocked as you can see by the video. I was hoping for 2 MOA, but I'll take what I got. She wants a F-Class gun to compete with next year, but there's a big difference in 3 shot groups vs 20 shot groups.

True, but at her age the eyes are better and you heal faster than us old timers. lol

You will never have to worry about her going hungry either.

sorta takes away some of the macho affect dosent it.
given the oppurtunity young kids can do very well behind a rifle.
especially from a bench. shooting at clay birds is enjoyable for them also.
they get to see it break then try for the pieces. actually its enjoyable for everybody.

We are putting together an F-Class gun for her. I just ordered a PDC chassis in F-Class configuration.

The bolt lift on the savage is a bit much for her so I'm going to get one timed and trued. The scope will be a Nightforce BR and it will have a 30" Benchmark barrel in 6mm BRX. I needed a stock that I could use to do the load development and then adjust for her. She wanted it lime green so we should be easy to spot.
