    260AI die set

Does anyone know of a source for a 260AI die set? I have checked Redding, Forster and RCBS, but no one lists it.

Would you say that the quality is as good as Redding or Forster?

I use an RCBS FL 260AI 40deg single die for fl sizing 1 time or so then I use Lee Collet 260Rem dies for necksizing and seating. Works great.

260 AI is listed in Reddings 2010 catalog. It is a series "D" die. Their 3 die Delux set is $204 part # 84623.

The 2 die full lenght set is $129.90 Part #80623

Others 260 AI dies also listed but this should give you a start.

Thank you Blue Avenger. I am still trying to make my mind up as to whether the AI option is really worth the extra expense. I love the though of wildcats, but not sure if I want the hassle yet.

Midway has .260AI dies. They are listed in the obscure calibers section.

I ended up buying my .260 Improved dies from Sinclair: http://www.sinclairintl.com/product/...Reloading-Dies
I almost purchased them directly from Redding....but found the price to be less at Sinclair...$120.95.

As to the question whether it's worth going to the "Improved" version....It's totally up to you. I wanted to push 140-142 gr. bullets at the 3000 fps mark....figured it would be better for punching paper at 1K yards. Time will tell for my application...but I'm very hopeful.

Well that was my plan as well. I am building this rig for long distance paper punching. The only 1000 yd range is about 4 hrs from here though, so it will not be often that I get to try it out. What length of barrel are you using?

Yeah...For me...the nearest 1K range is at least 3 hours away...so I know what your saying. I went with a long tube. I have a a heavy palma contour with a finished length of 31 inches. I figure I can set it back a time or two and still get to 1K decently. It makes for a long beast....but hopefully I'll have a useful rifle for many years...since I really don't compete.

no hassle, just expense. fire form loads while a tad slower can be just as accurate for practice.
