    Savage 10FP 308 / Bushnell Tactical Elite 10x40 Mil-dot

    Hello,
I have a Savage 10FP heavy barrel 308 with a Bushnell 10x40 Tactical Elite mil-dot scope. Mounts are Leupold 1 piece base with matching Leupold STD rings.
I want to shoot to 1000m. I think I'll use 180gn projectiles at about 2600fps. Should be better than 150 or 168gn.
At what range should I be zeroing at?
What would be the mil-dot drop at each 100m interval out to 1000m??
    Thanks in advance.
    Dutch.

It will be different based upon scope height, altitude, temperature, etc...

On the Hornady website, they have a ballistic calculator that is reasonably close. I used it with the same scope you are using to help me estimate my sight dope out to 1000 yards with a 6.5 bullet, and it was close enough to get me near. Once you can see your shots hit through the scope, you can figure out how many mils off you are and simply adjust your scope that much.

Like Thomae, I have found that the Hornady calculator is a simple effective tool to get you on paper and plenty close to the center if your rifle isn't tweaked.
