Lt-32 load for a Mod.12 .223 1-7 "

With Varget being hard to come bye. I was thinking about trying some LT-32. I'm shooting 80 VLDs, with 24.8 Varget. I have had Varget on Back Order for 4 months. Has anyone had any success with this load?

LT 32 just came out this year, it was a partner ship between Western powders and Benchrest shooter Lou Murdica, to make a super consistent powder for the 6PPC. (The "L" in the name refers to him.) The powder is a copy of the t 322 or t32 powder made by Thunderbird, that is so dearly loved by Benchrest shooters. (Also know as 8208 pull down powder, repackaged by IMR from military surplus buys.) The powder is in the burn rate of N133, H322, Benchmark and so on. It is MUCH hotter than Varget. The powder is proving to be hotter than N133, and H322 as well. The powder is a modified version of AA 2015, and will behave much like 2015.

Because the powder is so new load data is very limited. You can call western powders, but I doubt you will get anywhere. When I talked to the head Ballistician at Western I got all the load data they had available on the new powder, and it covers 4 cases. A 223 is one of them but they had only had loads listed for 40,50,52,55,62,68, and 77 gr bullets.

With that all said if your looking for a replacement powder for Varget, you may want to try powders closer to it in burn rate, such as Reloader 15, 4895, 4064, AA2520, Win 748, ramshot, ETC

WHAT EVER YOU DO, DO NOT EVER USE LOAD DATA FROM OTHER CARTIDGES, OR BULLETS (Makes and weights.) and try to make them work for your application. Always consult the manufactures for proper load data. NEVER USE LOAD DATA FOUND ON THE INTERNET, BY INDIVIDUES!

Thanks for reply. From the little info. I was able to obtain, it sounded like it would be to hot for the 80gr bullet. But I was hoping for the best.
