.260 Rem LRP COAL how far off the lands?

I've noticed older references list 2.280 as the recommended COAL for .260 Remington, but newer ones list 2.278.

Does anyone know which one Savage uses in the LRP, and if there is a rule of thumb about how far off the lans this max COAL is?

    Thanks,

    -Rick

I have found the sweet spot in all of my savages is about 25 thou off the lands regardless of the bullet. They all seem to shoot well right there. Every gun is different though so you will probably have to tinker with it.

It depends on the bullet your using. It depends on the type of ogive your bullet has. My LRP likes the SMKs at the lands which is 2.880 while the VLDs where better at 2.780
