Surprise gift from my inlaws (model 99E .308)

I LOVE guns, ill start witb that lol. I don't know anything about this new one yet though, so I'm planning to learn a lot from you all! My inlaws surprised me yesterday with a Savage lever action M99E in .308. This is my first .308 and it is gorgeous! I'd love to know how old it is and if there's any rarity, plus range accuracy and such. Anyhow herez what you wanna see!

Looks to be in darn good shape. I am no 99 expert by any means, but IIRC the 99E's were the later models. Probably made in the 70's. I would hope that you could get 1" to 1.5" groups at 100yds without any trouble.
