Dating a 110c Series J

Hi All,

I have a Savage 110c Series J 30-06, serial E7519--. Would anyone be able to tell me when the gun? Are there still parts out there for it?

Certain parts on what is commonly referred to as "J-Series" guns (1st Gen short-actions) are unique to it such as the Firing pin assembly and bolt body due to their being a different length. Everything else is interchangeable. Here's more info on the differences...

Hi,

Based on the information you supplied (again, thanks) my 110 is a long action .30.06. I still cannot find out what year it was manufactured. Does the year matter should I someday need parts? Is just knowing that it is a 110C series J with long action enough to obtain anything that should be necessary?

No need to even reference the Series J as that will just confuse those who actually know anything about Savage's. As previously noted by others, the design has remained relatively unchanged so aside from the trigger current production parts will work for ya.

As for the year of manufacture it's going to be sometime in the 1980's as that's when the E prefix was used. Anything more specific than that will be hard to come by as Savage didn't keep good records back then and the company has changed hands a few times since then.
