    My home made bolt handle.

I wanted a extended/tactical bolt handle for my build so I decided to try and make one. I figured if I screwed it up, I would just order a complete one. I ordered a 5/16-24 threaded knob from PT&G and got a 3" bolt of the same thread. I cut the old handle off at the shoulder, and welded the bolt on. I then used files and sand paper to smooth everything out. I tweeked it to the rear a little and slapped a coat of paint on it.

Well, since you showed me yours, I'll show you mine.
This is a handle off an antique toilet I salvaged. I thought it would serve as a bolt handle. It's real comfortable & if you make a "flush" sound when chambering the next round it has an air of authenticity.
A rubber stopper in the end so it doesn't scratch anything, epoxy secured it nicely and it have some good weight to it since its solid brass w/ chrome plate.

Try not to laugh.... You might hurt my feelings.
Oh, wait.... I don't have any feelings.

    Fuzzy Dice???
    I like it!!!!
I'll need to look into a color coordinated pair to match the motif.

Ingenuity huh..... Its more like a little too much time on my hands that day. I have to say, it does get some interesting looks at the range.

One I built from a 7/8" stainless bolt. Cut the factory bolt handle square and threaded it. Built another for my 6.5x284 I'm building but haven't taken pics of it.

Never fails, as soon as someone posts up a description or a photo of something they've made for themselves with no desire or interest in mass producing it, someone will come along and want that person to make them one as well. Then that request will be followed up by more and more requests from others if we (the mods) don't nip it in the bud at the onset.
    Now:

Frank didn't mention it, but he's also working on some custom flip-up lens covers for his scope that will tie in with his bolt handle.

(sorry Frank - had to do it!)

This is a Good thread. Informative AND funny, whoosh! Sorry OP, the toilet handle kinda stole the show. I would ask for one, but all my toilets already have handles (sorry Mr Furious, I couldn't resist)

Fastenal would definately have it, most of the farm type stores around here have a decent selection of SS bolts, I would imagine they could be ordered from MSC Industrial Supply on-line.

Thanks king.... I bought my first bolt handle from Stockade it was nice but just not what I wanted for my bench gun. . So I did some looking and figured out a way to put an oversized bolt on without much trouble. Fortunately I work for a company that has used stainless bolts so I keep a stock on hand.
