    Free Floating the Tang

    Float the tang?

Should I free float the safety tang on my new B&C Medalist stock? Everything else fit great.

    Re: Free Floating the Tang

I would if it is hitting. If the tang hits the stock before the rear screw area of the action it could bind the action as you tighten it up.

A little sandpaper of lightly with a dremel should take care of it, then just dab a couple coats od tru-oil or some other clear on it to seal it and make the color match the rest of the stock again(when you sand it the color will lighten up).
