Anyone Put a Choate Ultimate Varmint Stock on a 12 LRPV???

I recently purchased myself a 12 BVSS and it came with the original stock as well as a Choate Ultimate Varmint stock . In my collection I also have a 12 LRPV. I love the fit of the Choate and I REALLY want to put it on my 12 LRPV for a bench type rockchuck buster! Problem is the mounting holes are different on standard 12's and LRPV's. Conveniently! I work in a machine shop so my plan is to set the stock in a mill and relocate the forward most mounting hole. I then plan on making a concentric plug to press in the slot that is left after the hole is moved. I would then glass bed the action into the stock. Has anyone done this? Am I crazy for trying? Has the severe cabin fever caused me to become delirious and come up with rediculous ideas? I want your honest opinions.

If your BVSS is a centerfeed action it is the same spacing as the LRPV(with exception od the middle screw).

If not, just buy one to fit a centerfeed action and go shoot. You really dont need the middle action screw on the target action anyway if it is bedded right into the stock.

As above, measure the hole spacing and call choate.
They do make a centerfeed action spaced stock.

    They are good stocks too.
    Just a bit heavy.
The rear screw is great though.

I shot my best 300 yard group ever in an UNbedded choate ultimate varmint stock.
Nothing special at all. I did have a machined recoil lug and a SSS trigger on it.

You could always give it to me:)

I'd give it a shot, I love my Ultimate Varmint stocked model 12. And if you happened to glance at 6mmBR.com lately you would see the ugly brother of this stock doing fairly well in competition. Guys either seem to love it or hate it, usually based on cosmetics and the heavy weight, but if you like it it's an economic alternative with great accuracy potential with little to no work (as tammons pointed out). Worst thing you can do is have a few extra holes -- I bedded mine with plastic steel epoxy and that seemed to work real well on the Al blocks in there.
