Nice bench and some beautiful ground you have there.
Since I just bought a new rifle I thought I had better get down to the shooting bench and clean it off. Didn't look too bad. Seems to be holding up pretty good. Looks like the shooting lane needs some trimming.
I built this about 10 years ago back in the woods in the only spot I could get a safe 100 yards. I hacked out a path through the trees and brush. It got a lot of use when I was into my contenders but in the past few years the only action it gets is when someone needs me to sight in a deer rifle. That's about to change.
Its pretty solid. My neighbor came into some old telephone poles and I was able to snag a section from him, they are setting on cinder blocks sunk into the ground' the rear is standard 4x6 that I think I also snagged from the neighbor as he was building a pole barn and had some short pieces. The floor and bench is 5/4 decking. Its hard to see but the ground slopes there pretty good so I had to dig it in on the uphill side so it wouldn't sit too high off the ground.
Not a lot of room to shoot through there but wind is never a problem.
Nice bench and some beautiful ground you have there.
It is a nice spot to sit and watch the creek.
Very nice shooting bench if the wind isn't a factor even much the better for load development, just were did you say you live
Haha a place where its really hard to find 100 yards in a safe direction. There is about 10 acres of woods along a creek. I traipsed all over trying to find the right angle with a good backstop with a good amount of trees behind that and not in line with a house in the first few miles.
I like it, nice range.
Thanks.
Me too
Ever try scattering some corn out in your shooting lane???
Pretty spot !
Definitely not allowed around here.
Wish I had a spot like that.
