Barrel nut question

Will a barrel nut compatible with the 112/116 line of Savage rifles also fit a Model 10/110 small shank barrel?

Hi That's not really how you know what fits, what It goes by large shank and small shank barrels,measured at the barrel nut.

Small "1.060"
Large "1.115"

To add to what Dean said, most of the time the barrel nuts are interchangeable. The most common being the small shank with barrel thread outside diameter dimensions as mentioned above. Savage also had large shank actions/barrels/barrel nuts. These are usually found on Target Actions and WSM chamberings and mostly on short actions with possibly one or so rare exception. It is always good practice to determine what you need and know what you are purchasing.

A small shank action can be modified to a large shank relatively easy for a Machinst with the right set-up tools and fixture and if he is willing to take on the work.
