yes,you may have to change the mag box and the firing pin and cross pin in the bolt depending on which bolt head they have in stock.
I have a 4.27 stagger feed 10 FP in 223 the barrel has many thousands of rounds down the tube I am wondering if I can change the caliber to something larger if I change the bolt head and the barrel?

Willing to give back for what the sport has done for me!
Any short action caliber will fit and some long action calibers like the 7x57 and 257 Roberts.
you can go up to cartridge like 338 Edge and 375h&h if you wanted too. If you want a repeater you are more limited but a single shot you can make if just about any cartridge that will fit a standard savage.
look at calibers that are loaded to 3.00" or less. You can go longer but why?
Thanks for the input gents, I am just kicking around the idea of a 260 conversion on this rifle.
Yep. No problem. All you have to do is get the larger bolt face and you might as well get a precision one from Pacific tool & gauge. Then just modify the bolt baffle by cutting off the extension that limits the bolt stroke for 223.
