    can you use short action calibers in a long action?

    Yes you can It is done all the time, and I have always found that they feed better, especially with those long VLD bullets.

    but you cant do it the other way,right? i have a 116 in 270 and it kicks the crap out of me.so i think i will buy a 6mm ppc barrel for and use it for benchrest.

    Yes you can also, but you have to load them one at a time, no mag fed.

    ive got two 110's both are long action but were chambererd in short action calibers .243 and .308 and both feed from a blind magazine just fine

    An overly long loaded cartridge may not eject without removing the bolt.

    Running a 110 with a .308 barrel on it right now.
