Need help, starting a new build with DBM .308

    Gang,
I've built several rifles with internal box mags, or as single shot rigs. Now I'd like to build a .308 with DBM. I'd like to hear from some of you that have done it. Obviously a short action, but do I want center or stagger feed or does it matter if I'm building from just an action? What bottom metal seems to work best? What bottom metal & stock combos have you had good luck with?

All advice and suggestions are appreciated.
    Thanks!

Centerfeed has the most availabel options in my opinion.

I've done it with an old flatback staggered feed. I took a model 11GL in 243 and changed it over to an 11 FLC in .308 configuration with factory takeoff parts from the classifieds here. The use of factory parts made the project smooth and painless. out with the old and in with the new. I also made a few more mods and wound up with this nifty little decked out carbine.

Nope but the right handed takeoff DBM stock I used had the cutout for the bolt on the wrong side. A few little holes with a small drill bit to create a mechanical lock, A little epoxy (JB Weld) to fill in the old cutout a little filing to smooth it over and a little grinding to form a new cutout with a ....Gasp... Dremel... and everything was good to go.
