    Savage 10 BA .308 with Nightforce benchrest 12-42x56 NP-R2

I recently bought the Savage 10 BA in .308 and I want to get the NF benchrest 12-42x56 NP-R2. I'm not sure how to pick the scope ring/mounts. I heard that the MOA of the rail needs to match up with the scope or something. I'm not really sure.
If anyone knows anything about this, it would help me out a lot. (I don't want to spend my money on something I can't use.)

The rifles rail is at 0MOA and based off what I've read it seems most rifles are 20MOA?

    Thanks!

Unless you are going to shoot out past 500 yds you do not need a 20MOA scope base. I would use Burris Rings with the inserts. There are no really bad rings and rails out there. The quality of manufacture is the difference in most. Ugly can still be OK (like me). Any good maker of rails will work. Shortly you will hear from many who will make recommendations on makers etc.

I will most likely shoot at 300-800 yards but I would like to be able to shoot at 1000 yards.

I found out that the scope i bought has 40moa adjustment. So if i bought a 20moa rail will it be impossible for me to shoot at 100 yards?

    Nf benchrest 12-42x56 np-r2

Ive heard that i wont be able to see 100yards if i have the 20moa rail. Couldnt i reduce the magnification to see 100yards?
