anyone have a load for the 25/06 and the 90gr SGK?

I found a box of 90SGK's (#1615) in my reloading stuff. I have been searching for a load and have been unsuccessful. Does anyone have a load for this.

A good starting load would be, 50gr of H4350 or RL17, and go from there.

I will give it a try.
Any idea how far to set these off the lands?

I've always had good results with SGK bullets seated 0.020" off the lands, and this has worked great is several different calibers. The 90's are a bit light for the 25-06 so depending on your throat length you may have to jump them farther than that in order to keep enough in the case

Hey my rule of thumb when trying a new load is 50 thou, and that 50 gr load is on the low side so no problem there, then I would load two at 51 two at 52 all the way up to 55, in one grain increments to see if you can find a sweet spot.

    For 25.06 I've been using IMR4350 for 85gr - 87gr bullets & RL-19 for 100gr & up.

My rifle likes 52.9gr of RL-19. Makes it boringly accurate.

    Your mileage may vary....

I'm loading'em over 55gr H4831sc. Shoots better than I can out of my old sako finnbear. I don't recall the OAL, I measure them at the ogive at 2.718". That's run out there pretty close to the lands, don't have my records handy. Probably limited by neck bearing surface, as has already been said. Start a little low, go a little slow. Be safe, we don't need any more bad publicity.
