On Savages when I Cerakote the barrels I do them apart, on remingtons/others I do it as a barreled assembly
Working on building a 10FP action with a new CBI .223 barrel, NSS barrel nut, and NSS lug. I would like to get the complete rifle finished with Cerakote. When in the process is the most appropriate time to get the finish applied - before assembly or after assembly?
Thanks!

Thanks! Figured that would be the best way with the barrel nut and all.
When I was finished with the mock up, everything was done, inletting, 20MOA base screwed down, barrel installed and headspaced, when I was ready to shoot, actually had shot it and confirmed it was "right" I broke it down and used Alumahyde Coyote as a base, then once that had cured for a couple of weeks I went with the Krylon camo over it after I scotchbrite padded the surfaces to get a better bite...the only thing I took off and painted separate was the scope...
