Have a savage target action, 6br, 26 inches long, .900 at muzzle.

Going to put a Sightron SIII, 8 X 32 X56 on it for fun shooting 100 to 1000 yds.

Going to use Burris 30mm Z rings with inserts.

Since the scope is 56mm need info on height of rings.

If anyone has this combination, can you give me info? What height of rings to use, high, or extra high.

What base, was not thinking of a Picatinny type, but a two piece type.

Suggestions appreciated.

Had a friends Remington 700 sendero with Valdada 1-Piece 20moa picatinny base and burris signiture zeee 30mm medium rings holding Sightron SIII, 8 X 32 X56. less than 1/8in clearance between scope bell and barrel. that barrel was flitted. not sure how thick it was. amazingly close and low fit. perfect if you ask me.

I have weaver one piece base, vortex low 30mm rings and weaver tactical 50 mm scope on a full bull 1" muzzle barrel. Plenty of room, may fit a 56 mm, depending on actual bell diameter. Medium rings by vortex gives another .100" height, should definately clear i would think.
